My Internship At Asante Ashland Community Hospital
I decided to do my practicum at the ASANTE Ashland Community Hospital. My site supervisor is Dawn Dille, who is the volunteering coordinator there. I chose ASANTE Ashland Community Hospital as part of my practicum experience because I am interested in becoming a nurse one day. I like what ASANTE stands for and how community orientated they are. I also had previous volunteering experience there. The location is easy for me to commute back and forth between school and work. I. The five initial goals I had in the beginning of my internship at ASANTE Ashland Community Hospital are: 1. To assist three departments in the hospital 2. To learn more about nursing by shadowing some of the nurses 3. To explore other non-clinical nursing department to broaden my knowledge 4. To have an understanding of how the hospital is orientated 5. Finally, I want to accomplish 90 hours of volunteering by the end of Winter term 2016. I also planed to gain experienced and knowledge form volunteering at the ASANTE Ashland Community Hospital and use that understanding for future reference. By the end of my internship Iââ¬â¢m hoping to find the right department of Nursing for me. II. My practicum description is guest service indicating that I greet the guests with a smile and a polite tone. Ask if the guests need any help with finding their location. Every volunteer at the hospital has a pager that receives messages to signals the users by beeping or vibrating. I have numerous tasks including
